Alisha was born and raised in the Columbus area, where her mother and grandmother both bred and showed poodles. She’s been around animals her entire life, and has always wanted to give something back. Alisha has been doing just that as a veterinary professional for over 17 years!
After working as a bartender for several years, Alisha signed on at a local veterinary clinic and cared for pets there for the next five years. In the fall of 2004, she became a member of the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital family, where she serves the area’s pets and animal parents as a front-desk receptionist.
Alisha and her wife, Kim, live with Alisha’s son as well as a multitude of pets. The family has a dog, Cujo, and five cats: Katie Ann, Charlie, Oliver, Simon, and Ellie. When she isn’t tending to pets here at the hospital or spending time with family at home, Alisha enjoys reading, quilting, knitting and crocheting, and practicing her photography skills. She’s even had the Columbus Zoo use her photographs, and her pictures have also been published in an animal encyclopedia!

After 25 years spent caring for others in the senior living field, Amy decided to make a change. She’d adored pets ever since childhood and even wanted to become a veterinarian for a time, so she decided to return to her passion. Amy jumped headfirst into veterinary medicine and hasn’t looked back since! She’s a Client Care Coordinator here at North Kenny Veterinary Hospital.
Amy grew up in California and South Carolina with her parents, a brother, and a sister. She moved to Ohio to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, and was thrilled to join the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital family in March of 2017. Amy loves learning something new on a daily basis and passing that knowledge on to the area’s loving pet owners—knowing that she’s made a real difference is the ultimate reward!
Away from the clinic, Amy enjoys spending quality time with her family, cooking (her holiday dinners rival her son’s, who is a trained chef!), and doting on her rescued Chihuahua mix, Belle.
Claudia has always felt a strong empathy for animals of all sorts—she’s the type to save a spider by taking it outside! When the opportunity arose for Claudia to put her passion to use in a professional setting, she jumped at the chance. Now, she’s able to help pets on a daily basis as a member of North Kenny Veterinary Hospital’s care team.
Claudia is a native of Upper Arlington and holds a degree in theatre and communications from Bowling Green State University. When she mentioned to a client of hers at a previous job that she felt her true calling was in animal care, it set off a chain of events that would change Claudia’s life. The client knew an employee here at the hospital, and it wasn’t long before Claudia was offered a job. She’s been here ever since!
At home, Claudia lives with one pet of her own, a cat who is particularly fond of car rides, as well as a rotating cast of foster dogs.
Jade wasn’t even two years old when she got her very first dog, an adorable Miniature Poodle. As time went on, she and her family kept everything from dogs, cats, and rabbits to turtles, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, and lizards! Jade has been caring for animals since her earliest days, and she’s proud to continue that journey as a member of the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital team.
Jade is from Piketon, Ohio and attended Bradford School in Columbus to study veterinary technology. She graduated in 2014 as a Veterinary Assistant, and joined North Kenny Veterinary Hospital’s talented care team in the fall of 2017. Jade especially likes to educate the area’s pet owners on proper care techniques, and she also has a special passion for behavior work thanks to her own dog’s anxious ways.
When she isn’t tending to pets’ needs here at the hospital, Jade can be found trying new restaurants, baking and experimenting with new recipes, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the company of her dogs at home. She shares her life with Liberty Bell, a sassy Pit Bull mix who talks back any chance she gets, and a Rottweiler puppy named Harley Quinn.
Kate became a member of the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital family after she and her sister, Allie, were found raising six kittens together (much like the 1980s television show that inspired their names). It didn’t take long for Kate to have the staff well-trained—she’s been enjoying her position as official hospital greeter, ambassador, nurse, and overlord ever since!
Kate’s kittens have all grown up and started lives of their own with loving families. Kate, meanwhile, remains here at the hospital, where she likes cuddling the clinic’s visiting patients and forcing her staff members to pet her during meetings. She’s also fond of sitting on medical charts when someone is trying to write in them, stealing people food, putting her smell on the various pet carriers that clients bring to the hospital every day, opening bags of cat food to let her minions know that she doesn’t appreciate her “diet,” and relaxing on the surgery table’s warming pad when it’s unoccupied.
Morgan has been training dogs since she was only 12 years old. For her, animal care has been a part of life ever since she can remember! Morgan’s passion for pets simply never quit. She’s been a member of North Kenny Veterinary Hospital’s team since 2014, and is proud to serve the area’s pets and animal owners as the Office Manager.
Morgan grew up in Springfield, Ohio with her mother, sister, and plenty of family dogs. She volunteered with the 4-H program until she aged out of the organization at 18 years old, then headed off to college to study sociology. Morgan worked part-time at the local humane society during her collegiate years, taking a full-time position there after graduation. Next, she became a Veterinary Assistant at several nearby clinics before moving to Columbus to continue her journey in animal care. Morgan became a full-time veterinary receptionist, gaining even more administrative skills, until joining the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital family as the Office Manager in 2014.
Most of Morgan’s hobbies outside of work revolve around pets as well. She and her husband, Jon, live with two German shepherds: Thorne, who is currently working towards his Canine Good Citizen certification, and Dyson, who competes in conformation, nose-work, dock diving, and other activities. Morgan is also a 4-H advisor in two counties, and helps to teach children to train their own dogs. In addition, she recently started teaching puppy classes at a training facility near her home!

Penny always had a soft spot for animals while she was growing up here in Columbus. When the time came for a career change, she had a thought: why not learn even more about the earth’s creatures while making a lasting difference in the lives of local families? North Kenny Veterinary Hospital was the perfect fit!
Penny previously worked in the software sales industry before joining the North Kenny Veterinary Hospital family in late 2007 as a receptionist. She hasn’t looked back since! One of the things that Penny likes most about her job is getting a behind-the-scenes view into the doctors’ amazing treatment procedures. Her favorite part of the work, though, is interacting directly with clients and their beloved pets every single day.
Penny and her husband, Rob, have two wonderful children named Tyler and Alyssa. The family shares their home with a Yorkie, Kiersten, as well as a Calico cat named Chelsea. Together, they love to go boating and jet-skiing, visit amusement parks, fish, and have fun family picnics.
