Internal Medicine Consultant
Dr. Cory Brown always knew that he wouldn’t be satisfied working a sales or desk job. When the time came for him to choose a major during college, he thought back to one thing that he had always been passionate about: the welfare of animals. That’s when he made the decision to pursue veterinary medicine and use his skillset to better the lives of pets and their loving owners!
Dr. Brown is originally from Oklahoma, and attended Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to earn his Doctorate and become a licensed veterinarian. He went on to complete an internship at Auburn University as well as a residency in small-animal internal medicine at Purdue University. Next, Dr. Brown launched his professional career by working in several large, multi-modality specialty hospitals—including stints in a West Palm Beach, Florida facility and at Ohio State University—before making the jump into consulting work.
Dr. Brown consults for veterinarians across Columbus and surrounding areas to provide internal medicine specialty services, advanced imaging work, and second opinions for difficult cases; he’s been lending a helping hand here at North Kenny Veterinary Hospital for several years. His favorite part of the job is helping to diagnose an illness or condition early on, allowing for prompt and proper treatment to return an ailing pet to full health.
Away from work, Dr. Brown enjoys reading, continuing to learn new things (he’s in the process of learning Spanish!), and spending quality time with his family and pets. He has a young daughter as well as two animal companions: a rescued cat who is mean to everyone except him, and an aging Terrier mix who survived cancer and now expects copious amounts of treats.
